When you have completed this study unit you will be able to:

 - Describe the industrial sectors in a modern economy and outline recent changes in the British economy.
 - Show the relationship between total population and the labour force and explain the effects of changes in the population on the labour force.
 - Distinguish between the private and public sectors of the economy.
