• 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday
• 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday

Dr Manny Ling is a senior lecturer in Design at the University of Sunderland in the UK. He is a graphic designer and calligrapher.

Ling will be discussing his design and calligraphy work and to share with you his insight into his practice. Ling will use his everyday observations as a basis for his talk—anecdotes and stories that would reveal his unique perspective on life and how he loves to find inspirations from the mundane and see them as objects of beauty.

Ling was trained as a graphic designer, typographer and type designer. He is passionate about calligraphy and has led the International Research Centre for Calligraphy (IRCC) at Sunderland for the past 18 years. His work is widely published and has exhibited around the world. His most recent exhibitions were held in Osaka and Kurashiki in Japan.

SBCS Global Learning Institute offers all students set to write CXC (CSEC) subjects in the May 2017 examination session, 1-day intensive revision sessions.

ADAPT (Academia Developing Alternative Pedagogical Techniques) is SBCS’ first conference of teaching and learning techniques. The conference is being held at a time when SBCS commemorates thirty years of inspiring global learning and seeks to be a platform upon which the lessons learned over that time can be shared with the academic community.
