Onika Assing is a dynamic, multi-faceted individual full of passion and drive to improve the quality of life of those around her and future generations. She is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with a wide range of experience in the Manufacturing industry specializing in Production Management and Procurement and Supply Chain Management. Ms Assing has also attained the coveted Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) qualification. She is currently a Procurement Officer at the Urban Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT).
Ms Assing is also the Director and Co-Founder of the Supply Management Association of Trinidad and Tobago. (SMATT). The SMATT promotes awareness in the field of Procurement and Supply Chain Management, and fosters networking activities and best practices among its members and aspiring members.
Her unique combination of skills has resulted in improved operational efficiency and value for money achievements at various organisations, through business process improvement and re-engineering. Ms Assing’s passion for learning and imparting knowledge has led her to the rewarding field of education on a part-time basis as she continues to develop the Procurement and Supply profession.
For the past five years, Ms Assing has been at SBCS, where she facilitates several Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) modules as well as short courses in Logistics Management for Business Professional and Inventory and Warehouse Management.
