The diverse talent of Ms. Gail Pantin is nothing short of amazing. On Saturday, February 20 2016, the BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Graphic Design students of SBCS’ Trincity Campus as well as members of the public had the pleasure of viewing her paintings, including her latest pieces done between 4:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. on said morning.
The students were carried on a field trip to observe the works of a phenomenal local artist at the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago located at Federation Park, Port of Spain. The purpose of the venture was to inspire and motivate them towards developing their own concepts for an upcoming assignment.
It was evident that the students were impacted by the experience, particularly when the artist passionately described her thoughts behind one of the her latest paintings. She went further to encourage them to continue to draw and paint, even when obstacles are met; that they should never give up and, “just keep drawing.”
Embedded in our core values at SBCS and shown within all that we do is this one objective; to inspire learners and change lives. The field trip served as one of the many ways that this is achieved by SBCS’ Trincity Campus – the Centre for Graphic Communication.
