On June 19, 2017 our University of Greenwich BSc. (Hons) Computing and Information Systems (CIS) graduates copped the top prize at the TIC Americas Caribbean Innovation Competition 2017.
The team, led by Kiran Deosingh and Varsha Teelucksingh, submitted their mobile App Idea and prototype – a Parental Driving Monitor, among this year’s 3,491 proposals, submitted by 4,679 persons from 40 countries. Only 30 proposals were accepted, with our graduate team securing their spot among the finalists.
During the TIC Americas 2017 finals on June 17, 18 and 19 in Mexico City, Mexico, the prototype – a refined version of Kiran’s final year UoG project, successfully claimed first place while on show in their category – Caribbean Innovation Competition (CIC), topping our fellow competitors from Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean counterparts from Barbados, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Haiti.
