The Electronics Technicians Association, International (ETA® International) has granted formal approval to SBCS, to conduct training and assessment leading to ETA certification in Fiber Optics Technician – Outside Plant (FOT-OSP). The was achieved following the review of SBCS’ teaching provision and suitable learning resources by ETA’s Certification Administrators and network of Subject Matter Experts. A comprehensive evaluation and assessment was done, which led to ETA granting this approval “in recognition of SBCS’ commitment to promoting excellence through training and certification.”

SBCS’ relationship with ETA and experience in delivering training in the field of Fiber Optics technology spans over 15 years. With this achievement, SBCS further extends its portfolio of engineering qualifications and training programmes, all delivered through the Centre for Information Technology and Engineering (CITE) administrative unit. The department has already put this recent approval to good use, having recently facilitated customized training for corporate client, Actavo, at the Champs Fleurs location.
