The SBCS community is saddened to learn of the death of Mr. Peter Pariag; a pre-eminent member of our teaching faculty, and a member of our Advisory Board. Peter was an outstanding educator, a great supporter of SBCS and a trusted advisor. He was a consistent and near-constant presence around our campuses during his over 20-year teaching career at SBCS; taking his first break in recent memory last semester owing to illness.
For many years, he was SBCS’ key Economics and Quantitative Methods lecturer for the MBA, ACCA, ABE and University of London programmes. “A quote that he would have enjoyed,” stated Executive Director Dr. Robin Maraj as he shared his memories of Peter, “is from Dr. W. Edwards Deming: In God we trust. All others must bring data.”
“On behalf of the SBCS community, I would like to extend to the family of Mr. Peter Pariag our sincere condolences on his passing. He touched and helped shape the lives of many persons, some of whom now occupy senior positions in both the private and public sectors … After retiring from the public service a few years ago, he became a full-time grandfather and part-time lecturer, and I know he greatly enjoyed both roles.”
“He leaves behind a great legacy, and though no longer with us in body, he will always be a part of us at SBCS.”
He will be missed.
