SBCS Team Wins 2019 HackTT Competition

The team of SBCS/University of Greenwich Computing students that represented SBCS Global Learning Institute at the 2019 HackTT competition emerged victorious in their category!

SBCS’ own “Kaizen Koderz” – comprising Shaquille Sprott, Kavir Nowbutt, Jessie Chan and Mark Baptiste – topped the E-Appointment category to stand as champions at the iGovTT-inspired hackathon. The past and present students of our University of Greenwich BSc (Hons) Computing & Information Systems (Final Year) programme took part in the inaugural competition that challenged 22 teams of tertiary level students to create and execute innovative solutions to the ICT problems set before them.

As part of his congratulatory note to our champions, Executive Director Robin Maraj emphasized the significance of the team’s impressive showing:

“In a very public way, this performance validates the commitment, dedication and hard work of our administrators and lecturers in inspiring our students to demonstrate their creativity and ingenuity. Regional recognition in Accounting (ACCA Top Caribbean Affiliates( #1 and #2) and several Individual Paper Prize Winners), now national success in Computing; our students continue to lead the way!”

We congratulate the team on their outstanding performance and offer our heartfelt thanks to the staff and lecturers who supported them along this adventure.
