The SBCS community celebrates and congratulates one of our long-serving faculty members, Mr. Derek Haqq, on being awarded a Fulbright scholarship to pursue a PhD in Computer Science at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

In his congratulatory message, Executive Director, Dr. Robin Maraj expressed his thanks and appreciation for the tireless and valued service that Mr. Haqq gave to our students:

“Derek has been with SBCS for over a decade and has touched and shaped many lives. It has been both an honour and pleasure having him aboard over these many years … On behalf of the SBCS community, I would like to thank him for his many years of service and for being part of the vision and fabric of SBCS.” 

Though he will be missed, we wish him all the best on his new adventure and look forward to working with him in the future.
