Trinidad born, New York based journalist and correspondent for the Trinidad Guardian, Dr. Glenville Ashby, wrote a glowing book review on Boy Days, Short Stories About Trini Men. Authored by SBCS lecturer Lyndon Baptiste, Boy Days is described as “…a compilation of two dozen short stories that is ethnographically Trinibagonian in character.” Dr. Ashby praises Baptiste’s writing style as versatile and comparable to “the sardonic humour and colloquialism of Paul Keens Douglas, the incomparable prose of Samuel Selvon, and the hauntingly poetic verse of Pearl Springer.”
Mr. Baptiste is also a past student of SBCS and a graduate of the University of Greenwich.
