The SBCS Library in conjunction with the Students Services department would like to congratulate the first place winner of the SBCS Library Essay Competition which was held in November 2013.
Ms. Safeia Mohammed, a University of London, Royal Holloway student, chose the topic; “Physical libraries have become obsolete in the age of digital libraries. Do you agree with this statement?” Ms. Mohammed argued that “Educational structures are changing to the point where physical presence in a classroom is not a requisite of learning (via online degrees and online courses) and so too should its counterpart, libraries.” For her well-supported argument, Ms. Mohammed earned the first place prize of five hundred dollars.
The second place winner Mr. Anthony Levia an ACCA Intermediate student won a book voucher worth three hundred dollars and third place Ms. Fernella Klass also of the ACCA programme, won a book voucher worth two hundred dollars.
Congratulations to all the winners and special thanks to the judges and all those who submitted entries.
