SBCS POS event updates – MAY 2011

· On Thursday, May 5, SBCS POS – Centre for Media Studies celebrated 8 years of service. Since its doors were first opened in 2003, SBCS POS has tailored its offerings so as to achieve it’s strategic goal of becoming the leading Centre for Media Studies in the region,  offering a range of Media and Media-related programmes. We are pleased to announce that this year we had our first graduating class from the University of Greenwich – Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in Media and Communication program, via the Higher National Diploma in Media entry.  Many of our BA graduates will be continuing on to our MA in Mass Communications from the University of Leicester, offered at SBCS Champs Fleurs. In 2012, the MA programme will be offered at SBCS POS.

Later this year SBCS POS will be expanding its facilities (Classrooms, Labs and Parking); enabling us to deliver superior service to our students, and consequently, realize the vision of SBCS POS Centre for Media Studies: To be the premier provider of globally recognized and industry-relevant tertiary education and training in the region in Media and Media related areas, as well as Corporate Business and IT.

·  On Saturday, May 7, SBCS POS – Centre for Media Studies hosted its third Open House at the POS Campus. This event was geared towards creating a greater awareness of the Media programmes that are offered exclusively at the POS Campus. The event highlighted our highly qualified and industry experienced Media lecturers. Participants, guided by our courteous and friendly administrative staff, were able to view the work of our current and past students and were encouraged to explore our state of the art facilities, including our fully equipped Television and Audio Studios. In addition, there were Media Real Talk sessions: 10-15 minute presentations by our highly qualified and industry experienced Lecturers and past students who are working in the Media field.
