We are proud to announce that one of the winners of the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago’s (ACTT) National Essay Competition is an SBCS student, Miss Val De Clou!
Val was awarded the first prize for students from tertiary level institutions. Her success was announced on Friday, November 30, 2012 at ACTT’s Excellence in Higher Education Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Trinidad Hilton Hotel. As the winning essayist, Val received the grand prize of a Mac Book Pro and $5000.00.
The experience was described by Miss De Clou as well worth her effort – she wrote her 2500 word essay on the topic: “How would you convince the average citizen of Trinidad and Tobago of the benefits of accreditation to students, higher education institutions and the development of the country?”
Through her participation in this competition, Val acknowledged that she was able to understand the importance of the work of our local Accreditation Council. She also indicated that she would encourage her fellow SBCS students to participate in future competitions as the potential rewards are significant.
Congratulations to another SBCS student who has done us proud!
