On Thursday, February 16th, 2012, SBCS visited the Curepe Vedic School to distribute items collected through our Christmas Collection Drive. The school’s principal, Mr. Dyal, joined with his students in warmly welcoming the staff and students of SBCS who were on hand for the exercise.
Toys were distributed by SBCS’ students to the children of Standards 1 to 3, while books were presented to all students for donation to their school’s library.
The visit proved to be a time of enthusiastic interaction among all involved, with the children gleefully posing for pictures, gingerly chatting with our representative students and expressing their gratitude for the donations made. The impact of the experience was also felt by SBCS’ students, with many of them desirous of not only revisiting the school, but also assisting in similar projects in the near future.
This venture is but one of many in SBCS’ aim, through our students and Student Services Department, to not only maintain a relationship with the school, but also with the local community through further donation drives and volunteer projects.
Staff who attended included Patrice Belfon, Senior Academic Administrator and Ricqcolia Phillip, Student Services Assistant. Students who attended included:-
