On Saturday July 4, 2015, SBCS’ Corporate Education Centre welcomed the latest cohort of Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University Masters students, at an orientation ceremony held simultaneously at the Trincity and San Fernando campuses.
Executive Director, Dr. Robin Maraj, delivered a dynamic and motivational welcome address to the students in attendance, via video conference from the Trincity location. He encouraged them to give of their best to their studies, and emphasized SBCS’ commitment to providing a learning environment to support their efforts through to their completion of the programme.
The session continued with members of the administrative team sharing the importance of adhering to the GATE guidelines and policy. SBCS’ rules and regulations, as well as academic advice, were delivered to the attendees by our very proficient Student Services and CEC staff.
Guest speakers at this event were lecturers Ms. Ann Marie Dookie at the Trincity Campus, and Messieurs Burt Gransaull, Ramchand Ramcharan and Karmalain Manohar at the San Fernando Campus. Also invited to share insight on the programme were Ms. Laura Lee Edwards, one of our 2015 graduates (Trincity), and current student Ms. Giselle Maharajh (San Fernando).
A sincere thank you to these persons, who took the time to impart their experiences and give practical advice to our new group of students.
The session ended on a lighter note with the Q&A segment. Those in attendance eagerly and earnestly answered questions; participants with the correct answers walked away with a variety of SBCS tokens.
