On behalf of the management, staff, students and alumni of SBCS, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Mrs. Manning, her children and the entire Manning family on the passing of former Prime Minister, Mr. Patrick Manning. Throughout his service to his country, Mr. Manning made important contributions to the development of our nation; not least of them, the egalitarian access to tertiary education in Trinidad and Tobago. The GATE programme was conceptualized and implemented by Mr. Manning, and there exists incontrovertible evidence that this programme has and continues to have an indelible impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands of our citizens. The investment made in education by Mr. Manning will redound to the benefit of our nation for generations to come.
